Getting geared up for the UK

Now that my camp season is over, I am now focussing more on my next venture: teaching in the UK. I have less than two weeks to lesson plan, pack and say good byes. It is slowly sinking in that what it will mean to be teaching in a different culture with a different curriculum and a different set of customs and assumptions. As I have been making final farewells to friends and family, I am reminded that not will I only miss them, but they will miss me as well. This part has not been as easy as I anticipated.
On the other hand, I am getting quite eager get settled into my teaching post at Alderman Blaxill. I will be teaching Science for years 7 through 11. Since I am a Biology major and Chemsitry minor, this is a good fit for me. My contact is currently for a year: 05 September2005 to 25 July 2006. Though this is overall a longer school year than in Canada, there are about 7 weeks of school holiday inbetween. I plan to use some of my holiday time to do some travelling in the UK as well as visit some friends in mainland Europe.
I am both excited and nervous about this venture. More updates to come!
Kevin
